Yup, you heard me, the roof is going on! It is not a big one but a very complicated one. Hopefully that baby will be done by the end of the week and then we will be moving on to having it water proofed. I’m really happy how the whole house is taking shape, everyday/ week brings significant changes.
Here’s how it’s shaping up.
First off, an apology for Jonseys’ damn van having to be in every picture. A true incentive to buy that man a new one.
A lot of the windows/doors are boarded up to keep people from coming in when we are not around. The over hangs on the roof are really going to add another great layer and element to the overall design. Of course also adding siding and detail will make a difference.
The front entrance also received a small overhang as well.
This is my favourite view, and one that is going to continue to get better. The openings you see for the windows and doors, are pretty much going to stay that size. We are trying to maximize everything to allow the view to really shine. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks as well, I will be doing some plantings in that rock wall. This is the bedroom/bathroom upstairs in the Master. The window to the left is where the tub will sit. I am just a little disappointed that we couldn’t have a much larger window utilizing the space to the right, but after the money spent on the steel for downstairs, it just didn’t make sense up here. As it is the header over the door and window is a 5ply, the one that goes down the center of the room is a 4ply, talk about overkill. We joke around here that for all the “earthquake”/ “seismic” proofing we’ve done, we are going to be disappointed if the big one doesn’t come just so we can see if all this “stuff” actually bloody well works.
